Meet the Peclard Group
Founded in 1998, this restaurant group has been growing steadily by sticking to what they do best: serving simple and yet delicious food. From laid-back cafés to some more elevated experiences, the group has built a reputation for consistency, community, and good vibes.
What makes this group truly special is the people that work there. In their restaurants, you’ll find team members from a dozen different nations working together effortlessly. They all speak the same language: “Péclard.” That’s the unofficial name for the family-style culture fostered by founder Michel Péclard—one that emphasizes mutual support, team-building, and a commitment to growth.

Tailor-made for today’s kitchen
The Peclard Group’s partnership with Global Swiss Learning was born out of a shared vision: to make high-quality culinary education accessible, practical and engaging for chefs at every stage of their careers. The result was tailor-made training programs delivered through the group’s internal academy, the Academy of Cooks and Pans.
The programs blend traditional Swiss culinary theory with hands-on, day-to-day kitchen knowledge. They focus on real-world challenges—like food safety, and preparation techniques that the chefs will need for everyday kitchen life.
A gamified learning experience
To test new methods of engagement, we introduced gamification features with their latest cohort of chefs. The idea was simple but powerful: make the learning experience feel less like a classroom and more like a game. The chefs could earn points, work towards new levels, and unlock badges. A weekly leaderboard added a friendly competitive edge, while an overall leaderboard allowed the chefs to work towards long-term performance goals.

The results: Unlocking employee motivation
The chefs gave the training a unanimous 5/5 rating, with all participants stating they would highly recommend it to others. Of the three gamified features, the leaderboard stood out as the favorite, receiving an impressive 88% approval rating. The chefs felt they could immediately apply what they learned to their work, and expressed strong motivation to continue learning with the program.
What's next?
Gamification is becoming an increasingly important element in professional education. At Global Swiss Learning, we're committed to digitzing and innovating vocational programs that have traditionally remained offline. By integrating gamification, we’re adding a dynamic new layer to our courses—making them more interactive, engaging, and impactful than ever before.
