Global Swiss Learning is proud to introduce our new additions to the board members. We are building a dream team of professionals that believe in our mission and will bring unique expertise to our project.

Please welcome Peter F. Weibel and Philipp Ries as they join our remarkable team!

Peter F. Weibel

Professional career and education
Peter F. Weibel studied business administration at the University of Zürich and worked for many years in management positions for leading internationally active companies in Switzerland, including as CEO of PwC from 1988 to 2003 and as a member of the Board of Directors of Credit Suisse Group from 2004 to 2012.
For 18 years, Peter Weibel has been professionally committed to education, social issues, and culture. He has shaped the development of various foundations, including the Pestalozzi Foundation. He was awarded the City of Zürich's “city medal“ for his many years of service as President of the Zürich Festival Foundation.
Until 2020, he chaired the UZH Foundation, the foundation of the University of Zürich, for which he was appointed honorary senator of this university. And at EDUCA SWISS, the Swiss Foundation for the Promotion and‑ Financing of Education, Peter Weibel is a member of the Board of Experts. He contributes with his extensive experience in professional governance, sustainable fundraising, and impact-oriented leadership there.

Philipp Ries

Professional career and education
Philipp Ries graduated from the University of Zurich with a Master's degree in Business Information Systems and completed the Stanford Executive Program in California in 2014. His professional career included a stint at HP as Sales Manager for Eastern Europe.
He has been working at Google Switzerland for ten years in various management positions, since July 2018 as Head of EMEA Assistant Distribution Partnerships. The tourism and digital expert also invests in start-ups and coaches them in the initial phase.
