Global Swiss Learning partners with WorldSkills 2022 - Special Edition

WorldSkills 2022 is a special edition, which means there are competitions being hosted in 26 different cities in countries all over the world—in the USA, Canada, Japan and also in our home country, Switzerland.

We could not be happier to partner with WorldSkills during this special edition, especially as so many exciting competitions will be hosted in Switzerland, including some of our favorite skills: Bakery, Pastry & Confectionary, and Cooking—as they are already trainings that we offer internationally.

There are 6 Swiss cities hosting competitions: Aarau, Bern, Basel, Lucerne, Montreux, and Geneva. The competitions will take place at various locations, many of which will be open to the public, and which you can explore on WorldSkills’ website.

From 9–16 October, we will be in Lucerne for the Bakery, Pastry & Confectionary competitions, and the official opening and closing ceremonies, which will be hosted by our partner, the Richemont School, in Lucerne.

There, Swiss competitor Vera Stocker will compete in the Bakery competition, and Juliana Thöny will compete in the Pastry & Confectionary competition. Both competitors have done a year of intensive training at Richemont—after winning in their categories at SwissSkills, previously.

Look out for our team during the week—they will be the ones in official Global Swiss Learning polos—and on Sunday 16 October, when we will hold a workshop and presentation in collaboration with Richemont, before the closing ceremony.

Later this month, you will find us at the Messe Luzern for the Cooking and Restaurant Service competitions, which take place between 23–26 October, and where Switzerland’s Rino Zumbrunn will be competing in the Cooking competition.

If you’re interested in attending the Bakery, Pastry & Confectionary exhibition, you can register here for tickets, or send an email to wsc22se@swiss-skills.ch for more information.
