Give individuals the essential education they need to kickstart their culinary careers. In line with a learning for earning concept, participants dive into digital and hands-on learning, practicing recipe execution and building fundamental kitchen skills to improve their career opportunities.

Learning goals

During this course, participants will:

Become familiar with digital learning by using our top-notch platform and our digital courses.

Get to know the professional devices, machines and utensils used regularly to pre-prepare and cook food.

Understand basic hygiene and safety principles and apply them while working in a professional kitchen environment.

Practice preparing basic recipes that require different pre-preparation, preparation and cooking methods.

Work up to more complex recipes, which require special attention to hygiene and safety.

Apply learnings in a professional kitchen environment, under the direction of a local trainer.

This course is conducted both online and in-person...

This course is conducted both online and in-person. Learners study the bulk of the material online (80%). The in-person training sessions are supplemental, and can be done either one-on-one or in groups (20%).

This course can be conducted both online and in-person. Learners can study our digital material online, and hands-on training sessions can be done either one-on-one or in groups.

This course is conducted online and in-person. Participants will study the Fundamentals and Methods and implementation in online sessions. The final assessment can take place either online or locally, in-person.

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.

  • This is a course designed for nonprofits. Learn more.
  • Level 1 prerequisites: No experience or culinary education required.
  • Level 2 prerequisites: Successfully complete Level 1.
  • We recommend nonprofits start with Level 1, with the option of offering Level 2 to participants at a later stage.
